Oriental Cockroach Eggs

Oriental cockroaches carry their eggs in an egg case, called a oothecae. The oriental cockroach oothecae looks like a small, rounded, rectangular shaped case, about 1 cm in length, dark brown in colour and can carry up to 30 eggs. They are laid by the female cockroach and hatch on their own in about two months. Once they have hatched they will go through nymphal stages, taking from six months to a year to reach adulthood. London is one of the many large cities heavily infested with oriental cockroaces. Due to the cutbacks being made by many councils in the capital, it is only a matter of time before the oriental cockroach population in london explodes causing many homes and work places to be infested with these disease carrying insects.
