German Cockroach Eggs

German cockroach eggs are contained in small oval cases carried on the back of female german cockroaches. The size of a german cockroach egg case can be anywhere between 1-2 cm long and can carry 30-40 eggs per case making the eggs themselves almost invisible to the human eye. Light tan to brown in colour, a female german cockroach can lay up to eight cases in her life time, meaning a possible 300-400 cockroaches from just one female. It can take about five hours to lay a egg capsule and once laid, around four hours for the nymph (baby) cockroaches to emerge. It takes 3-4 months for cockroaches to become fully adult from egg stage.
