Carpet Moth Pupae

Carpet moth pupae is the stage between the larval and adult stages of the carpet moth life cycle. This stage is where the larvae spins a cocoon around itself and over time turns into an adult moth. The pupae often takes on the colour of the fabric is pupaets on, as you will notice in the photo above. The colour of the pupae can be virtually any colour and sometimes can even be mulicoloured and are around 5 mm - 10 mm in length. This is the stage of development called pupation, when larvae are turning into adults. This usually takes between one to two months after which the adult carpet moth will appear, ready to mate immediately and shortly after starts laying eggs, starting the whole life cycle over again.
