Carpet Moth Damage

Carpet moths can cause damage to any textiles where they lay their eggs. The damage caused can be a very expensive one to repair, if it is repairable at all, if carpet moths are left untreated. The damage is caused when the eggs are growing in to larvae and need to find food and strength through textiles in carpets and rugs. You will normally start to notice little patches of your carpet or rug, going bald, as if it were being well trodden down to the bare threads. This can happen anywhere on the carpet but is usually found around the edges near to walls and in corners. You may not see the eggs or larvae of the carpet moth because of their tiny size.
